The Vineyard ministries started working in Colonia Urías (located below the city dump) in 1998. Construction and dedication of the new church and feeding center took place in 1999.
Church services are held every Sunday afternoon, and a women’s Bible study is held every Tuesday morning. There is a children’s program and feeding on Saturday. Urias is under the leadership of Rosy Tirado.
Also, there is a part-time dental clinic, staffed by a national dentist, Dr. Bricia Lizarraga, at the Urias facility where patients can be seen each week, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 – 10 A.M. Patients can receive dental work for the low cost of 60 pesos (about $6US), assuring affordable dentistry and quality care to the poor. Photos of colonia Urias are shown below.
