Adopt a Colonia

We could really use your help in bringing the love of Jesus to the people in the poor colonias of Mazatlan.  You can help us raise money to buy land and build a church with a feeding center and medical clinic, to feed the poor children, and to buy dental and medical supplies.  If you would like to sponsor a colonia, please contact us at the Mexico church office.  Once you have decided which colonia you would like to sponsor, we will send you a power point presentation for you to show at your church, as well as any other information that could be helpful to you in your sponsorship.

We will begin a search for a piece of land in the neighborhood. After the land is purchased, outreaches are started, and we start feeding the poor on site. Your mission teams can come down and do evangelistic outreaches to the poor in this colonia. A couple of years are needed for the outreaches in this neighborhood so that a relationship is formed between La Vina and the people of the colonia. Once that relationship is formed and money donated, a facility is built.

We build our facilities in stages so that progress with the mission is made while we continue to collect funds. The first stage is to build a roof so that there is a shady place for the children to learn. Next we build a floor and put up the sides of the building. A kitchen and bathrooms are added as soon as possible. Medical and dental clinics are completed during the final stage. Once the building is up, Nationals come to pastor and form a church, bringing more people to Christ.  The pictures below show some of the early development stages of one of our Colonias.
