A few years ago some of the churches in the Vineyard Midwest Area started a new border outreach in McAllen, TX/Reynosa, MX. They built a mobile kitchen and transported it to the site in McAllen, and did a week of outreach feeding the poor. In 2005, two days of outreach were held in a one Reynosa colonia; after the outreach effort, the president of the colonia gave us a football-size plot of land conveniently located next to the public school. Each year Border mania teams will continue to develop the site.
Border Mania is a missions trip designed to bring together high school students from around the Midwest for a week full of outreach and ministry in Reynosa, Mexico, a town near the Mexican-U.S. border. Teams will stay at missions headquarters in McAllen, TX. The teams will be lead by Nick & Bethany Goodin and the Vineyard Central Mexico Team. We will cross the border each day to do ministry in Reynosa, Mexico.
