We had over 117 children from our colonias that had outstanding attendance between 95-100% attendance. We invited them all to a fiesta honoring them and their achievements.
We decorated the church and had an entrance way when they arrived with cheers from the Virginia Beach team. The team sponsored the event, they had dinner and various games set up for the children to interact and have fun. They also set up an area for haircuts, face and nail painting.
As the event came to a close they received a certificate for their perfect attendance and a gift with his/her name on it. The other children all received a grab bag of gifts and candy with his/her name being called out. We all applauded in adoration for all the children.
The faces on the children were priceless, they were so proud of themselves.
These events of acknowledgement will spur them on to continue being the best they can be.
